New Missouri Insurance Laws

Here is a quick overview of a couple of new Missouri Insurance laws.  Senate Bill 101 will prohibit exterior repair contractors from offering to pay a homeowners deductible in hope of making a sale.  It will also prevent repair companies from negotiating with an insurance company on the insured's behalf.

Senate Bill 132 will guarantee insurance companies the ability to set up mobile service centers in storm-damaged areas.  This law makes it illegal for cities, counties, or other political subdivisions to restrict the activities of insurance companies establishing temporary operations solely for assisting with customer claims.  This will keep companies form being slowed by red tape in areas where they would have to wait on licensing or approval from cities, counties, etc. before they were allowed to start assisting customers.

I think these are great new laws for consumers and insurers alike!
